So just recently it was brought to my awareness that as I’m currently writing this, that there are programs out there used to listen to what people are writing on social media sites! Mainly for the use of finding out which key words are being used and linking them to their sites so web page owners can optimize their brand awareness. Now does this mean that anything we do online can be found out, if we leave a trail yes. If you want to create a buzz around something then people will talk about it, and people are monitoring it why not get the ball rolling. User Generated Content (UGC) is what underlines all Web 2.0 applications, and is the key success factor in collecting important data that would otherwise benefit organizations. Blogs, social networks, content aggregators, forums, and other content communities allow collection of beneficial User Generated Content. This information collected on social media is the forefront of web 2.0 these days and what a better way to communicate with potential clients than let them tell you exactly what they like. By being able to actively “listen” to what people are talking about via the web. The whole supply and demand of goods should become easier for both parties as people will get what they want, and business’s will increase their profits.
So even if you’re just looking to tweet about something exciting and new, then its a key performance indicator for those active listeners out there who want to know how well their marketing campaigns are working via social media sites! So for the future be aware that what you tweet may come back to help you out!
